Dr. Zhanchao Zhao
Dr. Zhanchao Zhao gained national and international experience with firms in Surrey, Halifax, Canada and China. His work experience ranges from structures from 50 storeys reinforced concrete buildings, post-tensioned concrete bridges and marine structures, to diversity of structural conditions from high earthquake zone construction to pile foundations on expansive clay soils. Dr. Zhao has also gained experience in finite element analysis of engineering structure, geo-technical engineering and industrial equipment.
Dr. Zhao have been in this industry over eighteen years, among of which nine years are in Canada. His major projects are in commercial, industrial, institute and residential building, bridge, power plant SCR steel ducts, hydropower plant building, substructure & gate, marine, hydro dam and industrial equipment structure design, analysis and management. Dr. Zhao is proficient in FEA software such as S-FRAME, STADD, SAFI, ALGOR, ADINA, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, PCA, ETABS, SAP, etc.
Dr. Zhao used finite element analysis and design concrete slab in Nova Scotia and finished over 10 projects, which have been saved about 12% reinforce steel, and decreased the slab thickness compared with tradition method (PCASLAB).
Dr. Zhao holds Masters and Ph. D. in Structural Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology and Bachelor of Hydro Power Structural Engineering from North China Institute of Water Conservancy & Hydroelectricity.

Kanwar Dhamrait
Kanwar joined Mainland Engineering Corporation in 1999 as an assistant structural engineer. He designs structures in steel, wood, light and heavy concrete and foundations of residential, industrial and commercial high and low rise buildings. He is also involved in seismic upgrade of projects and also responsible for project management, inspections and coordination with consultants.
Kanwar carries out structural stress analysis (gravity, wind, seismic, temperature, impact and other miscellaneous forces and displacement input) and design programs using plane, 3d mesh finite element method using Canadian and American codes and standards. Kanwar is an expert at using Staad 3, PCA Frame, AISC Design Advisory Series, Stan 3D, Enercalc ATS, P - Frame as well as CAD and detailing programs and Autocad.
